In April 2024, during a national meeting of the itinerant Compagnons Charpentiers des Devoirs du Tour de France, the idea was born to create a collective masterpiece to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the merger of the Compagnons Charpentiers. Fourteen volunteer companions formed a group to take on this challenge.The architectural design took place from April to September 2024, with each itinerant craftsman responsible for a specific part of the work, working from their own city while remaining connected to the collective. After 16 months of remote work and coordination, the dry run took place in September 2025 in Haute-Savoie, confirming the coherence of the whole.
In November 2025, the finishing touches were made before the masterpiece's first journey to Toulouse, where it was inaugurated at the end of November. This project illustrates the passion, expertise and alliance between modernity and tradition, carried out by craftsmen spread across four regions, demonstrating the richness of French expertise.
