Sustainability in painting: painting robots with atomisation optimisation and master computer control
Range+Heine is an innovative, medium-sized company in Germany that primarily manufactures equipment for coating wooden elements. The implementation of painting robots will continue to be a major topic in 2026. More and more small, medium-sized and even large window manufacturers are turning to automation for their spraying processes. The shortage of skilled workers is one of the main reasons for this development. At the same time, however, it also makes the workplace more attractive, especially for young employees.
The topic of sustainability in painting is once again coming into focus: many of our customers use a so-called atomisation optimisation system in addition to the standard robot installation. The additional enrichment of the atomiser air with an Airmatic ionisation system results in a softer, more targeted spray pattern for robot-assisted painting and savings in paint material – depending on the material used – often exceeding 10%. Supplementary processes for reducing consumables, such as our Ecola pre-separator systems, are also playing an increasingly important role in system planning.
Industry 4.0 is also gaining ground in the field of window coating. For us, this means that we are increasingly developing our master computer and coding solutions. Master computers actively support more complex coating processes, allowing employees to concentrate on process monitoring in many cases. Master computer and coding solutions are used to increase the degree of automation, but also to keep all the information necessary to create a high-quality product available at the necessary manual interfaces. In addition, these solutions are increasingly being used to optimise coating processes, e.g. to measure paint consumption or document layer thicknesses, etc.
